Joe Raphael's (2021) Summer 2019 experience as an EMT in Israel
August 01, 2019
"This summer I trained and worked with Magen David Adom (MDA), which is Israel’s national ambulance corps as an Emergency Medical Technician. I spent the summer living in Israel volunteering alongside Israeli paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians as we responded to medical emergencies in Rishon LeTzion, Israel. It was an amazing experience as I was not only able to experience Israel from a new perspective, but I also was also able to assist patients in many different types of medical emergencies ranging from severe trauma to cardiac arrest to child birth." - Joe Raphael (2021)

Eastern Divisional Conference - Pittsburgh, PA
February 14, 2019
On the weekend of February 15th, the Beta Mu executive board and chapter advisor, Nick DeKanter (A76), attended the Eastern Conference Divisional Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During the conference, the Beta Mu chapter was awarded distinctions for “Best Shelter” in the Eastern Conference, “Best Fraternity on Campus” in the Eastern Conference which is determined based on GPA and size of the fraternity, and “Chapter Growth” for our success in recruiting and member development. Our chapter advisor, Nick DeKanter, was awarded for his alumni dedication and brother Conor Brockway was awarded for his leadership as Inter-Fraternity Council President at Tufts University. Beta Mu President Nick Camp said that the conference was really beneficial in helping him “better manage the Beta Mu chapter by discussing with other chapters and learning from them.” President Nick Camp also talked about how it was beneficial to see a correctly done Rite of Iris and Initiation ceremony and how we could implement this into our chapter.
Announcing the Improvement of the Basement!
February 22, 2019
After several months of planning, the House Corporation's House Maintenance Sub-Committee, with the aid of this year’s newest Sophomore Brothers, mobilized and installed new flooring in the basement of the Chapter House.
Under the guidance of John Roberge (’72), the surgical installation skills of Phil Glassanos (’72), and the artful mentoring of undergrads by Lee Jenkins (‘66), the resilient rubber flooring was installed in a single day. The most memorable part of the day was the bonding and sense of brotherhood that these alumnae brothers shared with our newest Brothers: Tim Holt (2021), Ari Lerner (2021), Brenden Brennen (2021), Jeff Brown (2019), Alex Smith (2021), Guillaume Pailhoux (2021), and Karan Rai (2019). Job well done!
